Life After Ph.D. is a weekly webcomic that follows Our Indefatigable Hero, Mr. Dr. Rectangle, as he navigates the anxiety, depression, despair, and woe of modern life. Joining Dr. Rectangle on this gay geek entwicklungsroman is his significant lover, Mr. Arrow, and a cast of thousands ehh... about ten. Updates every Wednesday [or thereabouts].

S04eG - Lost In Time! : The Conclusion!

Originally, there was going to be a great denouement set in a shopping mall in 1986. It wasn't nearly as exciting as it sounded. Anyway, for everyone keeping track...

Satire: English was killed by the Viking invasions.
Satire: History was killed by the 20th Century.
Satire: Theater was *supposed* to be killed by post-modernism; instead he just died.
Satire: The Classics are killed quietly, off-screen, by a gang of Admins and Trustees.

That's it. Tell everyone it's over. You can come back now. I promise.

S03eF - Lost In Time! Part 3: Turning Points.

Mr. Arrow is right. I've gone overboard. I swear this time-travel jaunt is nearly done. Just one more...

Fact: The Silhouette Cabaret was open in Berlin during the end of the Weimar Republic, from 1926-1933.
Fact: Most of the images for this comic came from Berlin Cabaret.
Fact: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari came out in 1920, the Bauhaus-style font appears in 1925, and a permanent wave was a popular hairstyle in the early 1930s, but the Ampelmännchen on Mr. Arrow's shirt doesn't appear until 1961.
Fact: The Theater Humanatee is becoming a projection of all my late-teens/early-20s sexual frustration.

S04eE - Lost In Time! Part 2: Sack & Pillage

"Mjölnir ...forged in the heart of a dying star" þur uiki þisi kuml, indeed!

Fact: The Viking raid on Lindisfarne occurred in 793.
Fact: 2013 saw not one, not two, but three —THREE— different sexy Viking movies.
Fact: Spike your cocoa and enjoy some black metal instrumentals.
Fact: The Theater Humanatee is STILL modeled off of a boy I had a crush on my freshman year of college. He wasn't bright.

S04eD - Lost In Time! Part 1

What will become of our hero and his significant lover now that they are... LOST IN TIME!
Stay tuned to find out!

Fact: Tycho Brahe lost his nose in a duel over math. He was so baller he got a gold one to replace it.
Fact: Fiskesuppe is a Norwegian milk-based soup with carrots, onions, potato, and various kinds of fish.
Fact: We know that Chronos, god of time, is not the same as Cronus, the greek counterpart to Saturn. We went with it anyway.
Fact: The Theater Humanatee is modeled off of a boy I had a crush on my freshman year of college. Sigh.

S04eC - Welcome to Night Gown.

Mr. Arrow's "dragon hoodie" is from here. Professor Rectangle's "union suit" is from here. Annette's Pajama Party is from here. One of those links is more risqué than the other, so watch out if you're bashful.

S04eB - Talk Like A Pirate, Accurately!

Somalian. They're speaking Somalian because Somalian Pirates. And he's eating oranges because scurvy, and he's watching Treasure Planet, and it's all frikkin' hilarious.

S03Q - Q is for Quinto and Queering and Quasar

Until I realized this, there was *nothing* about Into Darkness that I was excited about. I haven't been this disinterested with going to see a Star Trek movie since the SECOND TIME we went to see Nemesis.

Also, I like that Karl Urban is wearing a catsuit.

In college, we owned a Star Trek porn parody on VHS. It was called something like "Star Trek 69: Deep Space Sex" and the Riker character did roundoffs over the sex-table in the medical bay. It was... interesting. A word of warning, though: search "star trek porn parody" at your own risk.
